Election Commission Summons 16 Senators Over Collusion Charges

Bangkok: The Election Commission has summoned 16 senators from Lot 4 to address charges of collusion. Among those called is Dr. Kesakomon Pliansamai, although she has chosen to remain silent on the matter, declining to comment at this time.

According to Thai News Agency, the 26th Investigation and Inquiry Committee of the Election Commission has issued summonses for these individuals to acknowledge and clarify the charges related to collusion in the selection process for senators in the 4th lot. This process is linked to events dated 22 May, with the senators required to report by 4 June 2025.

The list of summoned senators includes Mr. Phomra Chaosirikun and Pol. Col. Kob Atchanakitti from Group 20, Mr. Charun Klintalop from Group 6, and Mr. Pratuang Montri from Group 15. Others include Mr. Naruphol Sukonchat and Mr. Amad Ayuken from Group 16, and Ms. Saifon Kongkaew, Mr. Chanchai Chaiyaphit, Mr. Nirutti Suthinon, and Mr. Suphachok Salakit from Group 17.

Additionally, Ms. Aree Banjongthurakan and Mr. Jamlong Anantasuk from Group 18 have been summoned, alongside Dr. Kesakomon Pliansamai, Mr. Khajonsak Sriwirach, and Mr. Anek Wiraphananan from Group 19. Lastly, Ms. Waleerak Patcharamethaphat from Group 20 is also on the list.

Attempts to reach Dr. Kesakomon for further comments were unsuccessful, as she expressed a desire not to speak on the issue currently. The investigation continues as the committee seeks clarity on the charges presented.
