Bangkok: The Chairman of the Election Commission has confirmed plans to proceed with discussions on the Senate collusion case according to legal procedures, with an expected completion of the review within 12 Mondays.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narong Klanwarin, the Chairman of the Election Commission (EC), announced that the review of the Senate election collusion case commenced on June 8, 2026. The EC will conduct discussions every other Monday, spanning a total of 12 Mondays to ensure a thorough examination of the extensive documents and information involved. Mr. Narong emphasized the importance of adhering to this schedule to accomplish the review within the designated timeframe.
During the initial deliberation, the EC intended to consider multiple provincial groups. However, due to the complexity and volume of information, only the province of Surat Thani could be reviewed. Mr. Narong highlighted the need for detailed scrutiny of the numerous facts presented.
Addressing public concerns about potential cover-ups, Mr. Narong reassured that the new EC is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities within the legal framework. He stressed that the deliberations will be conducted with diligence and transparency, culminating in a consolidated decision through a single vote.
