Bangkok: The FBI-NA Alumni Association of Thailand organized a seminar on the prevention and solutions to transnational crime threats at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club Polo Club, located on Witthayu Road, Lumphini Subdistrict, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. The event aimed to enhance knowledge, exchange experiences, explore new scientific approaches and techniques, and provide current information on various types of transnational crimes that pose significant threats to the region.
According to Thai News Agency, the seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Benjamin G. Virtue, Legal Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, who attended as a special speaker. The event also saw participation from prominent figures such as Pol. Gen. Wisanu Prasarttong-Osoth, President of the FBI-NA Alumni Association, alongside Pol. Gen. Wichian Pojphosri, Pol. Lt. Gen. Udon Yomcharoen, Pol. Lt. Gen. Anucha Romyanand, Pol. Lt. Gen. Archayon Kraithong, Pol. Maj. Gen. Rungroj Thakoorpunyasiri, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Niwet Aphawasin. These distinguished guests were actively involved in the seminar’s activities.
The FBI National Academy (FBI-NA) is a professional-level course offered by the FBI, with its training center located in Quantico, Virginia, USA. It is attended by law enforcement leaders and executives from the United States and over 150 countries worldwide. The course aims to set standards, develop knowledge, and foster cooperation among global law enforcement officers. Thailand is notably one of the countries with the highest number of police officers participating in this training in Asia. Graduates of the program often occupy significant positions and utilize their acquired knowledge to advance their respective agencies.
The FBI-NA Alumni Association was established to serve as a hub for coordination between its members and other related organizations. Its main objective is to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experiences that benefit association members both in Thailand and globally. Additionally, the association seeks to coordinate efforts to effectively address transnational crime, contributing to peace and security within Thai society.
