Chao Phraya Express Boat Company issued a statement regarding a fire on its express boats. Two boats sustained heavy damage and one boat sustained minor damage. No injuries or losses were reported. The fire is suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit.
According to Thai News Agency, on September 14, 2025, at approximately 6:36 p.m., a fire broke out on three express boats parked in a row. Two boats sustained heavy damage and one received minor damage. The incident occurred after the boats had finished their normal work hours.
The company would like to clarify that at the time of the incident, there were no passengers or staff on board, and therefore no injuries or losses occurred. A preliminary investigation suggests the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit from the pier to charge the ship’s battery. All ships arrived at 6:15 PM to finish work and were not in
service. Upon arrival, on-site staff immediately extinguished the fire and coordinated with firefighters to control the situation. The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.
The company is currently conducting a thorough investigation with relevant authorities to confirm the true cause and implement stricter preventative measures in the future.
