Aranyaprathet: Border patrol soldiers intercepted five Thais who were illegally crossing the border on foot through a natural route back into the country near Ban Pa Rai Mai, Pa Rai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. They have been charged with illegal immigration.
According to Thai News Agency, soldiers from the Eastern Command, in cooperation with the 1202nd Ranger Company, 12th Ranger Control Unit, intercepted the five individuals as they were crossing the border from Cambodia into Thailand. The interception occurred at a natural crossing point near Ban Pa Rai Mai, Pa Rai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province.
All five individuals confessed to being deceived by a Facebook post that advertised administrative jobs and bank account rentals, offering income of 25,000-30,000 baht per month. Upon their arrival, they were forced to open numerous fake accounts and work as admins, responding to chats that scammed Thai people.
Authorities have contacted police to check the backgrounds of the individuals, as they remain unconvinced by their confessions. They have been handed over to investigators at Khlong Luek Police Station to face legal charges for illegal immigration. Additionally, authorities plan to expand the investigation to include the recruitment and smuggling ring involved with this group.
