Bangkok: The schedule for the funeral rites of six police officers who tragically perished in a plane crash has been announced. The ceremonies will take place at Wat Trithatthep, with a royal bathing ceremony scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
According to Thai News Agency, the process began with officers transporting the bodies from the center back to the Police General Hospital. A motorcade was arranged to move the deceased officers to Wat Trithatthep. The motorcade was led by a motorcycle from the Traffic Police Division, followed by a BMW car, and six vehicles from the Police Hospital return center. The route taken was the expressway on Rama 4, and traffic was temporarily closed at intersections to facilitate the procession.
Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, plans to personally receive the bodies at the temple, where an honor guard will also be present. The schedule commences at 2:00 PM, with the bodies leaving the Police General Hospital's Institute of Forensic Medicine at 2:45 PM. Relatives will receive the bodies at 2:50 PM, and they are expected to arrive at Wat Tri Thotsathep Worawihan by 3:00 PM. The water pouring ceremony will start at 4:00 PM, followed by the royal water pouring ceremony at 5:00 PM, and a chanting ceremony at 6:00 PM. Officers attending the ceremony are required to wear khaki uniforms.
