Gan Welfire Claims Bullying as Mother Weeps During Court Appearance

Bangkok: Gan Welfire is being held in custody, claiming he was bullied. His mother, in tears, embraces him.

According to Thai News Agency, Gan Vellfire's mother burst into tears and embraced her son through the bars of the police transport vehicle after not seeing him for over a year, as he was being brought before the court for his first remand hearing. Vellfire vehemently protested, claiming he was being bullied.

Investigators from Prachachuen Police Station took Mr. Songkran Phanphu, also known as "Kan Welfire," 37, a suspect in a serious crime, to Ratchada Criminal Court to request a 12-day initial remand, from December 26th to January 6th. The investigators opposed bail due to the seriousness of the crime, the high penalty, and the suspect's prior history of fleeing the country.

During his escort from the detention cell in the morning, police officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, provided tight security. Journalists who had gathered to cover the story attempted to question the suspect, but Mr. Gan became agitated, shouting loudly at the reporters, "Hey, move aside!!" before being led into a prisoner transport vehicle.

Meanwhile, Kan's mother, who had traveled from another province, attempted to see her son, stating that she had not seen him for over a year since he fled the country and wanted to touch him for the first time. However, authorities only allowed them to communicate through the prisoner transport vehicle.

Kan's mother tearfully said, "Behave yourself, be patient. What happened was because we were drunk and lost control. If you had been sober, you wouldn't be like this. I know. Please be patient. I will be patient and wait. You must be patient too. When you go in, behave yourself so you can be forgiven." Kan simply replied, "I was bullied," before bowing to his mother.

The suspect's mother expressed deep sorrow at being reunited with her son in custody after a long period of being unable to contact or see him since he ran away from his family. She stated that this had caused her stress, loss of appetite, and insomnia, compounded by her own health problems. She reiterated her regret for the incident and its impact on both herself and her son.

Police officers then drove the prisoner transport vehicle from Prachachuen Police Station towards the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road to request a detention order.
