Bangkok: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) is maintaining continuous and full factory operation amidst volatile global circumstances. This is achieved through an integrated value chain business structure connecting "upstream to downstream," coordinating with the PTT Group, the government, and customers, ensuring product delivery according to plan and mitigating the impact of the situation.
According to Thai News Agency, GC announced that it has an integrated petrochemical and chemical business structure, linking upstream to downstream, managing flexibility in production and the use of diverse raw materials to adapt to and cope with fluctuations. The primary goal is to support the continuity of the plastics industry supply chain for its customers. GC's plastic resin production mainly consists of polyethylene (PE), a key raw material for everyday consumer goods such as bottle caps, opaque bottles, gallons, black water pipes, water tanks, and fishing nets. The company is operating at full capacity, focusing on delivering to domestic customers according to plan.
GC is preparing to restart operations at another olefins plant in early April, after completing planned major maintenance. This will increase the production of raw materials for PE plastic pellets. At the same time, the plant can also produce another type of raw material used in the production of polypropylene (PP) plastic pellets, supplying domestic PP plastic pellet manufacturers and partners to alleviate the tightness in the market demand for PP. PP plastic pellets are popularly used in the production of food packaging such as ready-to-eat food pouches, curry bags, and food containers.
Meanwhile, GC is also working closely with the government, PTT Group, private sector, customers, business partners, and industry allies to continuously monitor the situation and assess its impact. GC is committed to supporting the continued operation of the country's industrial sector and mitigating the impact on the public during this volatile period.
