Bangkok: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) won the Thailand Technology Excellence Award in the Digital-Chemicals category at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for its work, 'Advanced PDH Optimization Modeling drives higher yields, energy savings, and lower CO2 emissions.'
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kamal Ramdani, Executive Vice President of Product Innovation, stated, "This innovation reflects the creativity of our employees, who have applied their knowledge and practical experience to develop a digital model that generates results that increase efficiency, save energy, and reduce carbon for a sustainable world." The Advanced Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) Optimization Model, developed by the company's team of researchers, analysts, and engineers, merges chemical reaction knowledge with advanced digital data analysis to predict optimal operation conditions. This allows for more accurate, faster, and safer adjustments to production processes, resulting in increased propylene yield, a key raw material for downstream and intermediate processes, along with energy savings and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by up to 1,700 tons per year. This achievement is a significant contribution to carbon reduction and sustainability goals.
