According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, President of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), announced that GHB is set to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance in 2025. The celebration, scheduled for May 1-3, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, will feature financial promotions to assist Thai citizens in purchasing homes and encouraging savings. Key offerings include special low-interest home loans, GHB savings bonds with attractive returns, and high-interest savings deposits, with several gifts available at the event.
The special low-interest home loans provide a credit line of 3 billion baht for various loan purposes. Customers opting for life insurance to cover their loans will enjoy a special fixed interest rate of 1.50% per year for the first five months. The rate increases to 2.65% per year for months six to 24, and 3.75% per year for the third year, averaging 2.85% over the first three years. The maximum loan term is 40 years, with welfare customers receiving an MRR-1.00% rate and retail customers an MRR-0.50% rate. Loans start at 3,400 baht per month for a 1 million baht loan. Applications can be submitted from May 2 to June 30, 2025, with transactions completed by September 30, 2025. The top five customers with the highest legal credit limits will receive a free air purifier.
The GH Bank Savings Bonds, Naga 2 Series, are available at 1,000 baht per unit for a three-year term, offering a 0.75% annual return. Investments of 100,000 baht yield a minimum return of 1.47% per year, while 1 million baht investments yield 1.59% per year. Prizes include a 3 million baht grand prize and several smaller prizes. Those purchasing bonds worth 500,000 baht or more per transaction will receive a free 1,000 baht bond. The bonds can be purchased from May 1-15, 2025.
The 150th Anniversary Deposit of the Ministry of Finance offers a credit limit of 1,500 million baht with an interest rate of up to 2.00% per year. Accounts require a minimum deposit of 10,000 baht, with a maximum of 1 million baht per person. Deposits can be made from May 1-15, 2025.
The GH Bank booth will also feature an exhibition on the bank's history, current operations, and future plans, and will offer numerous job applications for those interested in joining the bank. The 150th anniversary event will run from 10:00 to 20:00 hrs at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
