GHB Hosts “60+ Earth Hour 2026” to Promote Energy Conservation

Bangkok: The Government Housing Bank (GHB) organized the "60+ Earth Hour 2026" event by turning off unnecessary lights for one hour. This initiative aligns with the government's policy on energy conservation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

According to Thai News Agency, the event took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM at GHB's headquarters. By participating in this global climate change campaign, the bank managed to reduce electricity consumption by 20.42 kWh. This reduction is equivalent to the usage of 1,134 18W LED bulbs.

The initiative also led to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions by 10.20 kgCO2e. This amount of reduction is comparable to the carbon dioxide absorption of one tree over a year or the energy used to charge 1,074 mobile phones. The event is part of GHB's ongoing sustainability efforts, aimed at raising environmental awareness and contributing to climate change mitigation.
