Miami: Giannis Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and ten-time All-Star, has been traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat. The trade, finalized on Tuesday morning, involved multiple players and draft picks.
According to Thai News Agency, the league is currently in the process of approving the trade request. Antetokounmpo, along with Bobby Portis, will join the Miami Heat. In return, the Milwaukee Bucks will receive Tyler Hero, Jaime Haguez Jr., Kelleh Ware, and Casparas Jiacusionis. Additionally, Milwaukee will acquire the 13th overall draft pick in the 2030 draft, a draft pick swap in 2031 and 2033, and a second-round pick in 2033.
Before making the move to Florida, Giannis received offers from both Miami and Boston. Miami has a history of acquiring major players, such as Shaquille O'Neal in 2004 and LeBron James and Chris Bosh in 2010, which led to championship victories in subsequent years. Antetokounmpo had been named Most Valuable Player for nine consecutive years until an injury last season. Over his career, he has scored 21,531 points in the NBA.
Giannis played his final game for Milwaukee on March 16th against Indiana, where he injured his left knee. Over his 13-season tenure with the Bucks, he left a significant mark on the team's history.
