Bangkok: Government Savings Bank joins hands with ICBC (Thailand) to launch a yuan money transfer service starting tomorrow (1 Nov.)
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paphakorn Ratanaset, Senior Executive Vice President of the Investment and Financial Management Group at Government Savings Bank, and Mr. Jian Gong, Senior Executive Vice President of the Branch Business and Corporate Business Relations Group at ICBC (Thai) Public Company Limited, have jointly introduced a new SWIFT service. This service will facilitate foreign currency transfers in Chinese Yuan (CNY), allowing Government Savings Bank customers, both individuals and corporations, to conduct inward and outward transfers conveniently, quickly, and securely. The service will be accessible at all Government Savings Bank branches nationwide through the SWIFT system, an established international standard for such transactions.
The new service is set to commence on November 1, 2024, and will feature a special promotional offer. Customers will benef
it from a discounted transfer fee for transactions in both Chinese Yuan (CNY) and US Dollars (USD), with fees starting at just 200 baht per transaction. This promotional rate will be available until February 28, 2025. The agreement for this collaboration was signed by Mr. Natthorn Phothipaet, Assistant Managing Director of the Financial Management Division at Government Savings Bank, and Ms. Suwimol Itthiput, Senior Advisor and Acting Executive of the Financial Market Division at ICBC (Thai) Public Company Limited.
