Kamphaeng Phet: A sedan and a motorcycle collided, resulting in the instant death of the motorcyclist. His mother, upon arriving at the scene, collapsed in grief upon seeing her son's body.
According to Thai News Agency, the tragic accident occurred on the Khlong Khlung Bridge in Kamphaeng Phet Province. The victim, Mr. Thawatchai, was involved in a head-on collision with a car and a motorcycle with a sidecar. Initially in disbelief, his mother broke down upon confirming it was her son, pleading with his lifeless body to come home. Her overwhelming grief led her to faint, prompting officers to administer first aid.
The collision not only claimed a life but also left two individuals seriously injured. The husband and wife, who were on the motorcycle with the sidecar, are receiving medical treatment at a hospital. Police plan to question the car driver and witnesses due to the severe nature of the crash. The impact caused significant damage to the car, with the bumper detached and windows shattered, while Mr. Thawatchai's motorcycle was equally wrecked. Debris littered the bridge, necessitating road closures for clean-up.
In a separate incident in Chachoengsao Province, CCTV footage captured another fatal motorcycle accident at a traffic light intersection near Suwinthawong Market. A young Burmese man was seen maneuvering his motorcycle before attempting a U-turn when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Ms. Rattanaporn, a young teacher. The violent collision threw the man across the intersection, killing him instantly. His motorcycle was dragged for over 30 meters, creating a trail of sparks.
Ms. Rattanaporn remained at the scene to provide a statement to the police. She claimed she did not see the motorcycle when approaching the red light intersection. Her vehicle's windshield was shattered, and the front bumper was entangled with parts of the motorcycle.
Police escorted the teacher to a hospital for a blood test, which confirmed no alcohol presence. She has been initially charged with reckless driving causing death.
