Bangkok: Rainfall is on the rise in the South, with predictions of heavy to very heavy rain in certain areas. Southern Thailand is expected to experience increased rainfall impacting 60% of the region, with some areas facing heavy to very heavy downpours.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has reported that today's weather forecast indicates heightened rainfall due to strengthening easterly winds affecting the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region. The public has been advised to remain vigilant about potential dangers from these weather conditions, including accumulated rainfall that may lead to flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas near waterways and low-lying zones. In the Gulf of Thailand, wave heights are approximately 1 meter, potentially exceeding 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Mariners are cautioned against navigating in thunderstorm-prone regions.
Upper Thailand is expected to experience hot weather during the day; however, thunderstorms and gusty winds are anticipated, with heavy rain forecasted in some areas of the North and East. This is attributed to southerly and southeasterly winds transporting moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea over upper Thailand.
In Bangkok and surrounding areas, the weather will be hot during the day with a 60% likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds. Currently, air pollution levels in upper Thailand are low due to rainfall in numerous regions.
