Bangkok: Arriving before the official start of the polls, voters in Bangkok's District 1 lined up at Joan of Arc School on Samsen 13. The location, which hosts polling stations 7-10 in the Wachiraphyaban Subdistrict of Dusit District, saw citizens eager to cast their votes in both the parliamentary elections and a concurrent referendum.
According to Thai News Agency, early-morning voters carefully checked lists of eligible voters for both the parliamentary and referendum votes posted outside the polling station before joining the queues. Prior to the official opening at 8:00 AM, election officials opened ballot boxes for public inspection, ensuring transparency. Once the clock struck 8:00 AM, officials announced the opening of the polls, allowing voters to enter the booths.
Reporters on the scene interviewed voters, who expressed their determination to support candidates who would represent their interests in parliament and work on improving local economic conditions and educational opportunities. Despite the presence of three separate ballots to complete, many voters reported feeling confident due to preparatory materials explaining the voting process they had reviewed beforehand.
Bangkok's Constituency 1 includes the districts of Phra Nakhon, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Samphanthawong, Dusit (excluding Thanon Nakhon Chai Si Subdistrict), and Bang Rak. Among the notable figures registered to vote at the Joan of Arc School polling station was Ms. Suphamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office.
