Wutthakat: A house fire in the Soi Wutthakat 42 area of the Wat Sala Kruen Community led to the tragic deaths of two grandparents who were found burned to death in the bathroom. The incident occurred yesterday evening, resulting in the destruction of three houses due to the closely built wooden structures. Fire trucks were mobilized to the scene, but narrow alleys impeded the access of large vehicles.
According to Thai News Agency, officials managed to rescue two individuals trapped in the fire. However, upon extinguishing the blaze, they discovered the bodies of Mr. Pichet, aged 84, and Mrs. Pranee, aged 76, inside the bathroom, approximately two meters apart. The investigation revealed that the house was home to five individuals, including the deceased couple and their three children. At the time of the incident, their son was not home, and their two daughters were visiting the hospital.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the grandparents attempted to escape the fire by seeking refuge in the bathroom. Unfortunately, their advanced age and the severity of the fire hindered their escape. Officials initially suspect that an electrical short circuit may have been the cause of the fire. Forensic officers are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of death, after which the bodies will be handed over to relatives for religious rites.
