IEAT and Double P Land Partner for Major Expansion of Chachoengsao Bluetech City

Bangkok: The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has partnered with Double P Land to expand the Chachoengsao Bluetech City industrial estate by over 690 rai. This expansion aims to develop an EV Cluster with a comprehensive energy storage system, accommodating an investment of over 5 billion baht and showcasing a smart eco-industrial estate model within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

According to Thai News Agency, the partnership was solidified through the signing of a supplementary memorandum of understanding, with Mr. Sumet Tangprasert, Governor of the IEAT, presiding over the ceremony. The expansion aligns with the global trend towards electric vehicles and positions the Chachoengsao Bluetech City Industrial Estate as a key player in this growing market.

The IEAT is focused on enhancing the Ease of Doing Business policy by utilizing digital systems and smart technologies to streamline approval and licensing processes. The expansion is expected to bolster the economic sector, create new jobs, and promote sustainable investment through environmentally friendly practices.

Ms. Nipa Rukkhomthoon, Deputy Governor (Strategy) of IEAT, highlighted that the project aims to accommodate industries utilizing modern technology. Strategically located in Khao Din Subdistrict, the project will expand the area to a total of 1,872 rai and is estimated to generate significant economic activity and employment.

Ms. Kulapornphat Wongmacharaphinya, Director of Double P Land Co., Ltd., emphasized the company's commitment to balancing economic, social, and environmental aspects through the development of an Eco-Industrial Estate. The project will focus on industries such as electric vehicles and high-capacity battery energy storage, and will feature smart infrastructure and sustainable practices.

The expansion has received approval for its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and is scheduled to be fully operational by 2028, marking a significant step towards establishing Thailand as a regional hub for electric vehicle manufacturing.
