IEAT confident Hi-Tech Industrial Estate – Bang Pa-in – Nakhon Luang will definitely not be flooded

The Industrial Estate Authority is confident that flooding will not occur in the Ban Wa (Hi-Tech) - Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate and the Nakhon Luang Industrial Estate, as was the case in 2011. Mr. Sumet Tangprasert, Director of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), acting as the IEAT Governor, is confident that the industrial estates in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, consisting of Ban Wa (Hi-Tech) Industrial Estate, Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate, and Nakhon Luang Industrial Estate, will definitely not be flooded because they have experience from the major flood in 2011, which received a budget to build a 7-8 meter high dam. From the inspection, it was found that the dam was strong and sturdy. However, additional protection measures have been prepared by dredging canals and preparing water pumps to pump water out of the estate in case of flooding. In addition, there have been discussions about disaster prevention and relief plans, finding shelter, and helping the surrounding communities bec ause if water enters, water must be pumped out of the estate, which will affect the communities. This is to maintain the industrial sector, which is a big picture that will affect the country's confidence. In addition, the IEAT is preparing to visit the World Industrial Estate (Lamphun) in Makhuea Chae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lamphun Province, to discuss with the estate's executives and Murata Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to find ways to provide assistance, including reviewing flood prevention plans after the floodwaters overflowed and forced the factory to stop operating for 2 days, resulting in damages of over 25 million baht.
