Inaugural Singapore-Chiang Rai Flight Welcomed with Traditional Festivities

Chiang rai: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized a New Year's event to welcome tourists arriving on the inaugural flight (TR670) from Singapore to Chiang Rai operated by Scoot Airlines on the "Singapore-Chiang Rai" route. The aircraft passed through a water arch, a grand welcome tradition, as it carried over 100 tourists to Mae Fah Luang International Airport. Ms. Phatranong Na Chiang Mai, Deputy Governor for Asia and South Pacific Markets of TAT, warmly welcomed the tourists with a traditional Akha ethnic group performance and presented each passenger with an "Amazing Thailand" themed tote bag as a souvenir.

According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) revealed that there are now five direct flights per week from Singapore to Chiang Rai, aiming to increase the number of Singaporean tourists visiting Thailand. In addition, TAT is also bringing influencers and travel agents from Singapore to experience the natural beauty, lifestyle, and culture of Chiang Rai to encourage them to share their experiences and invite more Singaporeans to visit the country.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aims to attract at least 150,000 more Singaporean tourists to Thailand than last year, pushing the total number of Singaporean tourists visiting Thailand nationwide to over 1.2 million by 2026.
