Bangkok: IRPC, in collaboration with EPP through the "From Wastes to Walk" project, has donated recycled polypropylene (PP) plastic sheets to the Prosthetic Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. These materials will aid in the production of assistive devices for patients and individuals with disabilities.
According to Thai News Agency, IRPC Public Company Limited and Eastern Polypack Company Limited (EPP), a subsidiary of Eastern Polymer Group Public Company Limited, presented these recycled PP plastic sheets to Clinical Professor Dr. Niwes Nantajit, Secretary-General of the Prosthetic Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. This presentation took place during the closing ceremony of the 175th Royal Prosthetic Unit at the multipurpose dome of Theparak Subdistrict Municipality Office, Mueang District, Samut Prakan Province. The donated materials are intended for use in manufacturing assistive devices, such as ankle-foot orthosis (AFO), thereby improving accessibility and quality of life for patients and people with disabilities. Additionally, these materials will be utilized in training prosthetic technicians.
IRPC has been working in collaboration with the Prosthetic Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra and other partner organizations on the "From Wastes to Walk" project since 2022. This initiative focuses on collecting leftover PP plastic from the production of prosthetic limbs and assistive devices, recycling them, and producing plastic pellets. Eastern Poly Pack Co., Ltd., an IRPC customer, assists in producing these recycled PP plastic sheets. The materials are then delivered to the Prosthetic Foundation and partner organizations for use in manufacturing assistive devices for patients and individuals with disabilities.
