Udon thani: Israel celebrated the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic relations with Thailand in Udon Thani Province, as part of a visit by Dr. Alona Fischer-Kamm, Ambassador of Israel to Thailand, along with a delegation from the Israeli Embassy. The visit aimed to strengthen friendship and promote cooperation between the two nations.
According to Thai News Agency, a significant part of the visit was the inauguration of a new playground at Ban Thung Thong School. The Israeli Embassy donated new playground equipment, desks, chairs, and a water purification system to enhance the school's facilities. Ban Thung Thong School, which has 124 students from Kindergarten 2 to Grade 6, is led by principal Mrs. Dujdao Khanunthong.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Chakraphan Chantharaphumi, Deputy Governor of Udon Thani Province, Mr. Theerayut Unwiset, Director of the Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 4, teachers, students, and community members. During the event, the Israeli Ambassador emphasized the importance of creating a safe and inspiring environment for children, stating that the playground and educational equipment will help students learn, play, and grow into well-rounded individuals.
The Israeli delegation also met with Mr. Rachan Soon-Hua, Governor of Udon Thani Province, and other senior provincial officials to discuss future cooperation in labor, agriculture, education, and other mutually beneficial fields.
The visit included a meeting with the family of Chairat Sanusan, an agricultural worker who was killed in an attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The Israeli Ambassador expressed condolences to Chairat's family and assured them of ongoing support from the Israeli government, similar to what is provided to Israeli families affected by the incident.
The Israeli Ambassador reassured the bereaved families, stating, "We continue to remember Mr. Chairat and all the victims who died on October 7th. Israel will stand by and support all the families, hoping that you will remain strong and find peace knowing that you are not alone."
This visit highlighted the enduring friendship and cooperation between Israel and Thailand, rooted in over seventy years of diplomatic relations that continue to bring mutual benefits to both countries.
