Bangkok: Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip, killing 18 people. At least 18 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, despite announcements of progress in efforts to enforce a ceasefire.
According to Thai News Agency, a spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip revealed that Israeli drones and helicopters carried out more than 10 airstrikes in several areas of Gaza since early Sunday morning local time, resulting in at least 18 Palestinian deaths, including four children and two women. The attacks targeted apartments, displaced persons' tents, and civilian vehicles.
Local sources reported that among the dead were Kamal Abu Muailik, a Hamas commander, and his wife, who died after their apartment in Deir al-Balah was attacked.
Hamas issued a statement calling on mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire to take responsibility and to condemn Israel's crimes against the Palestinians, as well as to pressure Israel to cease its aggressive actions in accordance with the agreement.
Gaza's health authorities report that Israeli attacks have killed 1,230 people since the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into effect last October, bringing the total death toll in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, to 73,356.
