Bangkok: Jakrapob Penkhae has been appointed as a Pheu Thai Party list Member of Parliament (MP), taking over from Prasert Chantharawongthong, who recently resigned from his position.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Gazette has officially confirmed Jakrapob Penkhae's promotion to the MP position through an announcement from the House of Representatives. This shift follows the resignation of Prasert Chantharawongthong, who vacated his seat effective July 1, 2026. Prasert's departure has been formalized under Section 101 (3) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2017.
The announcement from the Election Commission, dated March 4, 2026, initially confirmed Prasert Chantharawongthong as an elected MP from the Pheu Thai Party list, where he held the number 5 position. With Prasert's resignation, the next eligible candidate, Jakrapob Penkhae, who was number 18 on the party list, has been appointed to fill the vacant position in accordance with Section 105(2) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2017. The official announcement of this appointment was made on July 2, 2026.
