Japanese Prime Minister Visits South Korea for Bilateral Summit

Daegu: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has arrived in South Korea, marking a significant moment in diplomatic relations between the two nations. Takaichi landed at Daegu Air Base, which is approximately 237 kilometers southeast of Seoul, to participate in a summit with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung.

According to Thai News Agency, the South Korean presidential office disclosed that the Japanese and South Korean leaders are scheduled to conduct their second summit of the year in Andong, the hometown of President Lee. This visit follows the initial summit held in Nara, the hometown of Prime Minister Takaichi, earlier this year in January. These summits are part of a continuing framework of reciprocal diplomatic cooperation between Japan and South Korea.

Japan's Nikkei business newspaper has reported that the two leaders are anticipated to finalize an agreement on a framework for cooperation in the crude oil supply sector, which will include joint oil reserves. Additionally, the newspaper mentioned that the prime ministers will discuss and exchange information about the recent meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
