Chiang Mai: Anyone who wants to taste Japanese strawberries, big and sweet, doesn't have to go all the way to Japan. A middle-aged man who owns a strawberry farm in Chiang Mai has been experimenting with growing them for 10 years until he got results that are as sweet as those in Japan, selling them for 1,000 baht per kilogram. He has started allowing tourists to go and pick them themselves, turning them into another agricultural tourist attraction in Chiang Mai.
According to Thai News Agency, the farm owner has dedicated a decade to perfecting the cultivation of Japanese strawberries in Chiang Mai. His efforts have culminated in a product that matches the sweetness and size of those found in Japan, offering a taste of Japanese produce without the need for international travel.
In addition to selling these strawberries at 1,000 baht per kilogram, the farm now invites tourists to experience strawberry picking firsthand. This interactive activity not only provides visitors with fresh strawberries but also establishes the farm as an agricultural tourist destination in the region.
