Din daeng: In a collaborative effort, police forces from the Din Daeng and Huai Khwang districts successfully raided a weapons hideout in the Din Daeng area, leading to the arrest of an individual identified as "Mai," who confessed to both drug use and the modification of weapons for online sale.
According to Thai News Agency, the operation took place yesterday, April 3, 2026, when investigative officers from the Huai Khwang and Din Daeng Police Stations joined forces to search and arrest Mr. Sermsak Leeprakon, also known as "Mai," aged 47. During the raid, they seized a homemade 9mm handgun with a modified barrel, 16 rounds of ammunition of .380 and .38 calibers, a modified silencer, and two magazines, all carefully concealed within a wardrobe.
During initial questioning, Mr. Sermsak admitted ownership of all seized items. He revealed that he had obtained the gun from acquaintances in Buriram province two years prior and had purchased the silencer through an application from a Chinese online store for 150 baht, which he subsequently modified to fit the handgun. Furthermore, Mr. Sermsak confessed to using methamphetamine earlier in the day before his arrest.
Authorities have charged Mr. Sermsak with "possession of firearms and ammunition without a permit" and "use of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine)." The arrest was conducted in compliance with the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E. 2565 (2022). The entire process, including video and audio recordings, was documented, and relevant information regarding the detention was reported to the public prosecutor and administrative authorities as per protocol. Mr. Sermsak, along with the confiscated items, was subsequently transferred to Din Daeng Police Station for further legal proceedings.
