Kantharalak District Residents Evacuate Amid Border Tensions

Kantharalak: The atmosphere at the Thai-Cambodian border in Kantharalak District remains tense, with residents gradually evacuating throughout the morning. Most opted for evacuation centers in nearby districts, while some families left amid the uncertainty of the situation.

According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, has become quieter. Many shops and businesses have gradually closed for the safety of both operators and customers. This has resulted in increased traffic congestion in some areas due to the movement of people.

Police officers from Kantharalak Police Station have been deployed to facilitate traffic on all main routes to ensure a swift and safe evacuation. They are also advising the public to closely monitor announcements from government agencies.

Meanwhile, military operations continue in the border area around Khao Phra Wihan.
