Bangkok: Kantkawee Kaewsuwan of JP Academy emerged victorious over Siravich Suksamai from KIP Badminton Club, advancing to the last 32 in the Men's Singles, 19-year-old category at the BMA ROZA YONEX TIP Open Championship 2024. The prestigious badminton tournament, held at the Vessana 1 Sports Building, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), runs from November 1-6, competing for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the trophy of Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok. According to Thai News Agency, the competition saw intense matches across several age categories. In the Men's Singles category for 9-year-olds, Kittiwat Srisathapornwong from Vayu Badminton Club, ranked third, defeated Pokklaw Paksa of PUTI CLUB with a score of 21-7, 21-12. In the 11-year-old category, Panphat Prayoonniram of PBC HatYai, the fourth seed, won against Phawin Watchararuangwit from HANUMAN in straight games 21-11, 21-12. The Women's Singles category also witnessed strong performances. Jirat chaya Wattanasansuk, representing Pathum Thani Badminton Association and ranked first in the 11-year-old category, triumphed over Suphassara Wangtal from Ban Thongyod, securing her victory with 21-3, 21-5. In the Men's Singles 13-year-old category, Jirapat Kumpol from Baan Thongyod, the third seed, dominated Chayakrit Pasunon of CR Badminton with a score of 21-5, 21-4. The 15-year-old category featured Yuthasak Nadi from GRANULAR, who maintained his top rank by defeating Suthisant Meuangsai from HANUMAN, 21-14, 21-7.
