Pattaya:Tens of thousands of runners, both Thai and international, gathered in Pattaya to participate in the 2026 Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon despite challenging weather conditions.
According to Thai News Agency, the marathon, presented by MAMA and held at Terminal 21 Pattaya shopping mall in Chonburi province, saw over 10,000 participants braving heavy rain and strong winds. The event was marked by a lively atmosphere as competitors persevered through the adverse weather.
In the men's overall 10km race, Nicholas Bor Kipchirchir from Kenya emerged victorious, finishing first with a time of 31.24 minutes. Thai runners Pongsakorn Suksawat and Somchok Kongdee followed, claiming second and third place, respectively.
In the girls' event, 14-year-old Thai runner Natthapaphat Srikhumkul impressed everyone by finishing first with a time of 37.00 minutes. Birehan Marta Tinsae from Ethiopia secured second place, while Oranong Wongson from Thailand took third.
