Khao Yai Shrine A Symbol of Protection and Spiritual Reverence in Thailand’s Forests

Nakhon Ratchasima:On a visit to Khao Yai National Park, travelers are encouraged to make a stop at the revered "Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine," dedicated to the legendary conservationist "Plad Chang." Known for his efforts in combating banditry and restoring peace to Thailand's forests, Plad Chang is celebrated as a heroic figure in the region.

According to Thai News Agency, the shrine at the checkpoint leading to Khao Yai National Park serves as a spiritual sanctuary, safeguarding both the forest and its visitors. "Plad Chang," or Mr. Chang Nisaisat, a distinguished Thai army officer, played a pivotal role in reclaiming the park from bandits in 1932. His courageous actions have left a lasting legacy, honored by the establishment of the shrine during the era of Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat.

The "Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine" has become a place of reverence for both forest rangers and the public, symbolizing a guardian presence within the lush jungles of Khao Yai. As visitors plan their Halloween excursions to enjoy the natural beauty of the park, they are reminded to pay their respects to "Chao Pho Khao Yai" for a safe and peaceful journey, under the watchful care of the forest's spiritual protector.
