Khon Kaen Police Intensify Gold Theft Investigation as Manhunt Enters Second Day

Khon kaen: Police in Khon Kaen are intensively tracking down the thief responsible for stealing 1.9 million baht worth of gold. The ongoing manhunt focuses on gathering evidence and employing a coordinated approach to apprehend the suspect.

According to Thai News Agency, the case is progressing well despite no arrest warrant being issued yet. The gold shop, located near the Ban Thum intersection in Mueang district, was robbed by a lone gunman who took 26 baht weight of gold. Pol. Col. Preecha Kengsarikij, Deputy Commander of the Khon Kaen Provincial Police, updated the task force, highlighting that skilled investigators from various units are systematically working together. The suspect's familiarity with the local area suggests they could be either a local resident or an outsider.

Police are urging the public to assist by reporting any sighting of the suspect, who was last seen wearing long jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt, orange rubber gloves, a black full-face helmet, white sneakers, and carrying an H2C bag. He was also riding a gray Honda Wave 100 motorcycle without license plates. The stolen items include one gold necklace weighing 5 baht, one necklace weighing 3 baht, and nine necklaces weighing 2 baht each, totaling 11 necklaces with a combined weight of 26 baht, valued at 1,929,200 baht.
