Bangkok: Art, the leader of the abduction and murder team, has been remanded in custody. He confessed to being concerned that the other four accomplices will not be punished. Authorities are awaiting the results of forensic investigations to recover data from the victim's severely damaged phone.
According to Thai News Agency, investigators from Sutthisan Police Station escorted prospective Lieutenant Phumeth, or Art, the leader of the team that abducted, murdered, and concealed the body of the manager. As he was being escorted to the vehicle, reporters attempted to question him on issues related to the case and the other four individuals who implicated him, but the suspect refused to answer any questions. Even after being led into the vehicle, reporters pressed him further, asking if the other four would not face punishment or if he was concerned about their families. The suspect responded briefly, "I am worried."
While relatives of the suspect brought food and drinks to visit him in the morning, they refused to give interviews to the news team, simply stating that they knew nothing and that anyone wanting to know should ask the police. They also threatened to sue the news team if they filmed them.
Regarding the progress of the case, investigators are currently gathering evidence to identify the other four accomplices that Sub-Lieutenant Phumeth implicated. The suspect stated that these four individuals were part of the assassination team and clearly defined their roles, but details cannot be disclosed.
Regarding the two mobile phones belonging to the deceased, they have been sent to the police forensic science office to use specialized tools to examine and recover data, even though the phones are severely damaged. It remains to be seen whether the forensic team will be able to recover the data.
