Pyongyang: North Korea's state news agency, KCNA, reported on Saturday that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent a New Year's congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the message, Kim expressed that he views the current alliance between North Korea and Russia as a valuable common asset that should be passed on forever.
According to Thai News Agency, Kim's message follows President Putin's New Year greeting to Kim on December 18, which was reported by KCNA on Thursday. In his message, the Russian leader highlighted that 2025 would be a "special" year for relations between Moscow and Pyongyang.
Additionally, President Putin's message mentioned the involvement of North Korean soldiers in fighting in the Kursk region in western Russia, describing such acts as clear evidence of the strong and unwavering friendship between the two countries. This exchange of messages between the leaders is a direct response to Mr. Putin's earlier congratulatory message.
