Lawn Tennis Association Partners with Kasetsart University for 4-Year Tennis Tournament in Nakhon Pathom

Nakhon Pathom: "Lawn Tennis" has joined hands with Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen, to organize a four-year professional tennis tournament aimed at boosting the economy and tourism in Nakhon Pathom. Kasetsart University, represented by Associate Professor Dr. Anucha Pinyophummint, and the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand, represented by Mr. Thaithanu Wannasuk, officially signed a memorandum of understanding at the university campus, witnessed by local officials and university representatives. According to Thai News Agency, the agreement was signed in the presence of various dignitaries including Mr. Narawit Khanthahira, Kamphaeng Saen District Chief, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Notee Thongdonchui. The event was witnessed by key university officials and representatives from the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand. The collaboration is set to feature the ITF World Tennis Tour from 2025 to 2028, utilizing the sports facilities at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. The initiative aims to enh ance academic and professional knowledge in sports and provide international exposure to students and sports personnel. Mr. Thaithanu Wannasuk highlighted the association's policy under President Mr. Suchai Pornchaisak-Udom to organize domestic competitions, minimizing travel expenses for athletes. He emphasized the role of sports in economic and tourism stimulation, citing past events in Chiang Rai and Nakhon Si Thammarat as examples. The partnership will host 12 events in the first year, split into two periods, with a combined prize pool of $225,000. The initial phase includes six events starting July 2025, featuring both men's and women's competitions. The second phase, also comprising six events, will follow in August and September. The collaboration promises to elevate Thai tennis on a global scale while fostering economic growth in Nakhon Pathom through the influx of athletes and visitors.
