Samut prakan: A middle-aged man driving a luxury car crashed into a karaoke bar, injuring eight people. The 56-year-old driver was returning home from a golf outing when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the establishment. The driver claimed that he swerved after another car cut him off, leading to the crash into the bar located on Wat Sri Warin Noi Road in the Bang Chalong Subdistrict of Bang Phli District.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place at 00:10 AM at Duangjai Karaoke. Bang Phli police reported that the BMW sedan initially struck parked vehicles before crashing into the bar's restroom area, causing extensive damage. Two pickup trucks parked outside were also heavily damaged. Eight individuals, including two female employees who were thrown by the impact, were injured and subsequently treated at nearby hospitals.
The injured employees recounted that they were on duty when they heard a loud crash and witnessed the car plow into the shop, injuring patrons and staff. The karaoke bar's owner, busy in the kitchen at the time, rushed out to find the shop largely destroyed. Fortunately, all injuries were minor, and those affected have since been discharged from the hospital.
The driver of the luxury vehicle, who appeared intoxicated, explained that he was driving home to the Theparak Road area when another car cut him off, resulting in the loss of control and the subsequent crash. Police have detained the driver and conducted a blood test to assess his alcohol level. However, due to reported chest pain, he remains under medical observation. Authorities are awaiting test results before proceeding with formal charges.
