Major Drug Dealer “Ko Palm” Arrested in Methamphetamine Trafficking Case

Krabi:The Central Investigation Bureau has apprehended "Ko Palm," a significant figure in drug dealing, for his role in orchestrating the transportation of 690,000 methamphetamine pills using couriers, private vehicles, and tour buses.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirapong, also known as "Ko Palm," 34, was arrested on a bus en route from Krabi to Bangkok under a warrant for conspiracy to commit drug offenses and selling narcotics without permission. This arrest is linked to a previous incident in August 2016 when authorities intercepted a white sedan with Chiang Rai license plates, leading to the seizure of 291,800 methamphetamine pills. A subsequent case in September resulted in the capture of 399,800 pills. The detained suspect admitted to being tasked by Mr. Jirapong to transport the drugs via bus.

During interrogation, Mr. Jeerapong claimed to have romantic ties in both Krabi and Chiang Rai. He mentioned that his girlfriend from Chiang Rai visited him in Krabi, after which they traveled back to Chiang Rai with a friend. They rented a car upon arrival, but his girlfriend was later apprehended for drug offenses while driving the rental. Mr. Jeerapong denied any involvement in her illegal activities.

Despite his claims, the police remain doubtful of Mr. Jeerapong's account. Investigations pointed to his role in recruiting the woman to distribute drugs to customers using public transport. A background check revealed that in 2019, Mr. Jirapong was sentenced to two years and six months for drug-related charges by the Krabi Provincial Court after pleading guilty.
