Masked Bulbul Set to Be Removed from Protected Wildlife List for Economic Development

Bangkok: The masked bulbul, commonly referred to as the “crested bulbul,” is on the verge of being removed from the list of protected wildlife species. This move is aimed at developing the bird as a new economic species. However, there are stipulations in place to ensure that breeding this bird does not adversely affect its population in the wild.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation is currently undertaking an extensive academic study. This study is crucial to ensure that the legal changes do not harm the natural population of the masked bulbul. The department is committed to balancing economic opportunities with conservation efforts before proceeding with any legal adjustments.
