Bangkok: MEA is expediting electrical system restoration and repairs to downed power poles caused by road subsidence. They are also deploying streetlights and backup generators to provide lighting for workers in the area throughout the night.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pipat Cholamphai, Deputy Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), visited the area to monitor the situation regarding a road collapse on Samsen Road in front of Vajira Hospital, which has impacted the local power system. MEA executives and officials inspected the safety of the power pole structure and cables at the scene. MEA has expedited the deployment of engineers and operational personnel to repair 10 fallen power poles and damaged power distribution equipment caused by the road collapse. Power has been restored to Vajira Hospital and surrounding areas.
The MEA Deputy Governor stated that the MEA is fully prepared in terms of personnel and equipment to handle emergency situations and minimize impacts on the public. The MEA continues to work in the area, collaborating with government agencies and relevant officials from all sectors, to restore the situation and provide assistance to the best of its ability. Electric lights and backup generators are being prepared to provide lighting for all agencies operating in the area and to provide lighting for operations throughout the night.
