With a large turnout anticipated for the event, MEA has implemented strict electrical system maintenance protocols to mitigate any potential hazards associated with the festivities.
According to Thai News Agency, MEA has issued several safety recommendations for the public to follow during the festival. These include unplugging unused electrical appliances before leaving home, avoiding contact with electrical devices while wet, and refraining from releasing sky lanterns near power lines. Additionally, the public is advised against lighting fireworks, firecrackers, and sparklers near electrical wires or flammable materials, and to exercise caution in flooded waterfront areas.
MEA has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring electrical safety throughout the event, allowing participants to enjoy the Loy Krathong celebrations without fear of electrical hazards. The authority encourages citizens to report any unsafe conditions or damaged electrical equipment to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority in their respective districts. Reports can also be made conveniently through the MEA Smart Life Application, available for free on iOS and Android, or via various social media channels such as Line and the MEA Call Center Online, which operates 24 hours a day.
