Meteorological Department Warns of Summer Storms in Upper Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has released its second bulletin cautioning residents of upper Thailand about impending summer storms from April 23-25. These storms are expected to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, and hail, impacting various regions including the North, Northeast, and East initially, before moving to the Central region, which encompasses Bangkok and its surrounding areas. According to Thai News Agency, the anticipated weather phenomenon is attributed to a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China, which is spreading over the Northeast and the South China Sea. This is coinciding with the generally hot to very hot weather currently being experienced in upper Thailand. Residents are urged to exercise caution during these storms by avoiding open areas, large trees, unstable structures, and weak advertising signs to ensure their safety. Additionally, farmers in the affected regions are advised to take preventive measures to safeguard their fruit trees and protect crops and livestock from potential damage. The changing weather conditions also necessitate attention to personal health, as the transition could impact well-being.
