Middle East Conflict Poised to Affect Pork Production Costs

Bangkok: The cost of pork production is poised for an increase due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The Thai Swine Breeders Association has expressed concerns about the potential economic impacts of the conflict, particularly in the second quarter.

According to Thai News Agency, the association has noted an improvement in farm-gate prices of live pigs, which have risen to 66-70 baht per kilogram. Despite this upward trend, the association remains wary of the conflict's potential to escalate production costs. Their commitment remains to stabilize prices, ensuring that farmers can endure the economic challenges without passing the burden onto consumers.
