Sisaket: Military attach©s from over 10 countries visited Pha Mor E Daeng to examine evidence of the clashes, which resulted in three Thai casualties and severe hardship for the local population. On January 22, 2069, a delegation of over 20 military attach©s from more than 10 countries visited the clash site at Pha Mor E Daeng cliff within Preah Vihear National Park, Kantaralak District, Sisaket Province, Thailand, to receive information on the clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers that occurred between December 8 and 27, 2068.
According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Samart Kaewsiwai, commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, briefed the Thai troops on the fighting situation and explained the terrain on the Cambodian side. He stated that the Preah Vihear temple area was being used as a military base of operations and as a point of continuous retaliatory firing towards the Thai side.
The clashes resulted in the deaths of three Thai soldiers and more than 100 wounded. Additionally, two civilians were killed and six injured by explosions and artillery shells that landed in populated areas.
Following a briefing, the military attach©s inspected the damage to civilian homes in Nong Mek village, Sao Thong Chai subdistrict, Kantaralak district, which were hit by artillery shells, in order to assess the impact on civilians from the clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border.
