Bangkok: The Minister of Labour reiterated the readiness to support the plan for the relocation of Thai workers. She stated that the Ministry has been coordinating and contacting all workers in various countries through labour attach©s. According to the information, there are currently Thai workers wishing to evacuate from Iran, with a planned departure of 50 people between March 7-11. Approximately 10 Thai workers from Saudi Arabia are scheduled to depart between March 6-11. As for Israel, 23 workers have been reported to be evacuating.
This is the first batch as updated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Labour is providing data on the number of workers and is continuously monitoring, coordinating with the workers, and tracking the situation through labour attach©s. In Thailand, contact has been made with the workers' relatives through agencies under the Ministry of Labour.
Regarding complaints and information circulating on social media about Thais illegally working abroad, particularly along border areas, the Minister of Labour stated that the Department of Employment has deployed teams to investigate these matters thoroughly and intercept individuals or groups involved in illegal overseas employment, as well as illegal employment agencies that smuggle workers abroad. Strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty. The investigation is currently underway to determine the exact number of individuals involved.
