Minister Suchart Leads Flood Relief Efforts in Eastern Provinces

Nakhon Nayok:Mr. Suchart Chomklin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, has initiated measures to address the flooding crisis in the eastern provinces, focusing on Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, and Prachinburi.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is the lead agency in deploying resources such as boats, water pumps, and personnel to alleviate the effects of flooding. The efforts are part of an integrated "One Ministry" approach aimed at expediting water drainage and providing essential supplies to affected communities.

A forward operations center has been set up to coordinate these relief activities, with Mr. Phadet Laithong serving as the director. The center aims to tailor its response to the specific needs of each area, ensuring effective distribution of aid.

In Chachoengsao, the Marine and Coastal Resources Office Region 2 has deployed flat-bottomed boats and personnel to assist in Bang Khla district. They are involved in transporting supplies and distributing relief packages and drinking water, with operations continuing until the situation improves.

In Prachinburi, 64 officers from various agencies have been mobilized to create water barriers and support water pumping efforts. They have installed two 12-inch water pumps and distributed 200 liters of bio-fermented water to address stagnant and smelly floodwaters.

Additionally, the Regional Water Resources Office 6 is enhancing drainage efficiency by installing water pumps in Prachinburi, Mueang Chachoengsao, and Ongkharak District in Nakhon Nayok.

Mr. Suchart has directed all agencies to maintain close monitoring of the flood situation, prioritize water drainage, and prepare for recovery, emphasizing the ministry's collective effort under the motto "Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as One, All Departments Working Together, Leaving No One Behind." The goal is to facilitate a swift return to normalcy for affected residents.
