Bangkok: The Ministry of Higher Education has announced the introduction of an AI-driven system to certify curriculum standards in higher education institutions by 2025. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and speed of the certification process, providing assurance to learners, society, and stakeholders. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom Polpornklang, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the announcement followed public consultations and received approval from the Higher Education Standards Committee (HESC). The certification process will evaluate programs based on three key dimensions: conformity to the 8 curriculum standard criteria, learning outcomes according to higher education qualification standards, and the linkage between educational management and learning outcomes. Programs that meet these standards will receive a 5-year certification. Undergraduate programs extending beyond five years will gain an additional year of certification. Institutions will be required to track and report on program performance within the first semester after the initial batch of graduates via the CISA system. The 'Fast Track' channel will be available for programs certified by international agencies, simplifying the compliance process by requiring only a check against the 8 standard criteria. Mr. Karam emphasized the government's commitment to modernizing Thai education. The integration of AI aims to streamline curriculum certification while the Fast Track channel reduces duplication and administrative burdens for institutions, ultimately benefiting future students.
