Chachoengsao:Bangkok Efforts are underway to address severe flooding in the eastern provinces of Thailand, with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment taking the lead in providing assistance.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, has directed a comprehensive response to the flooding affecting Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, and Prachinburi provinces. As part of his responsibilities overseeing eight eastern provinces, he has implemented the "One Ministry" strategy, which involves deploying boats, water pumps, personnel, and essential supplies to aid those impacted by the floods. The strategy emphasizes accelerating water drainage and preparing for recovery efforts following the floods.

A forward operations center has been established to coordinate relief efforts, spearheaded by Mr. Phadet Laithong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. This center is responsible for directing operations and ensuring that equipment and resources are distributed According to specific needs of each affected area.

In Chachoengsao province, the Marine and Coastal Resources Office Region 2 has mobilized flat-bottomed boats and personnel in Bang Khla district to facilitate the delivery of supplies, including relief packages and drinking water, to those in need. The office remains ready to provide ongoing support until the situation improves.

In Prachinburi province, 64 officers from various agencies have been deployed to erect water barriers using sandbags, support water pumping activities, and install two 12-inch water pumps in the municipal area. Additionally, 200 liters of bio-fermented water have been distributed to address issues related to stagnant and odorous floodwaters in poorly drained areas.

The Regional Water Resources Office 6 has been instrumental in installing water pumps in Prachinburi Province, Mueang Chachoengsao District, and Ongkharak District in Nakhon Nayok Province. These efforts aim to enhance drainage efficiency and minimize the impact of flooding on local communities.

Mr. Suchart has instructed all relevant agencies to maintain vigilant monitoring of the situation and continue providing swift assistance, particularly in the areas of water drainage and preparation for post-flood recovery. He emphasized the unified approach under the motto "Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as One, All Departments Working Together, Leaving No One Behind," with the goal of restoring normalcy for affected residents as soon as possible.
