Nakhon Nayok:The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has been mobilized as the sole agency to lead flood relief efforts in the eastern region, focusing on Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, and Prachinburi provinces.
According to Thai News Agency, Minister Suchart Chomklin has directed the ministry to integrate resources effectively under the "One Ministry" approach. This involves deploying boats, water pumps, personnel, and essential supplies to assist continuously in these flood-affected areas. The minister emphasized the urgency of accelerating water drainage and ensuring preparations for post-flood recovery.
A forward operations center has been established to coordinate flood relief efforts, with Mr. Phadet Laithong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, overseeing its operations. This center is responsible for tailoring equipment and support to the specific needs of each region.
In Chachoengsao province, the Marine and Coastal Resources Office Region 2 has sent flat-bottomed boats and personnel to Bang Khla district. Their mission includes transporting supplies, distributing relief packages, and delivering drinking water and essential equipment to the public. They are committed to staying until the flood situation improves.
In Prachinburi province, 64 officers have been mobilized to construct water barriers using sandbags, support water pumping efforts, and install two 12-inch water pumps in the municipal area. Additionally, 200 liters of bio-fermented water have been distributed to address issues of stagnant and smelly floodwater in areas with inadequate drainage.
The Regional Water Resources Office 6 has facilitated the installation of water pumps in municipal areas of Prachinburi Province, Mueang Chachoengsao District, and Ongkharak District in Nakhon Nayok Province to enhance drainage efficiency and minimize public disruption.
Mr. Suchart has instructed all agencies to maintain vigilant monitoring of the situation, expedite public assistance, particularly in water drainage, and provide essential equipment. The unified effort aims to restore normalcy swiftly under the motto "Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as One, All Departments Working Together, Leaving No One Behind."
