Chiang mai: Chiang Mai Airport, in collaboration with Thai AirAsia, has launched a donation initiative to support flood victims in the South under the "Chiang Mai United to Help Hat Yai, Fight the Floods" campaign. Two flights have already transported essential supplies such as drinking water and dried food to Hat Yai.
According to Thai News Agency, a donation point has been set up in the passenger lobby on the 1st floor of the domestic terminal at Chiang Mai Airport. The initiative, running from November 25-28, aims to collect dried food, drinking water, and other essential items. This effort serves as a bridge of assistance from the people of Chiang Mai and neighboring areas to those affected by the floods in the South, specifically in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
Mr. Karan Thanakuljirapat, Director of Chiang Mai Airport, reported that the initial delivery included 2,000 bottles of drinking water, dried food, and other necessities, which were transported on two FD155 flights from Chiang Mai to Hat Yai. Donations are being contributed by the public, as well as various agencies and businesses. Additional flights are scheduled for today, with continued collection and delivery of donations until the campaign concludes.
