Bangkok: Mr. Mongkolkitt Suksintharanon, alongside former parliamentary candidates of the New Alternative Party, has officially submitted his resignation to the Election Commission. They declared an intention to seek justice and remain true to the voters, outlining plans to establish a new political entity named "Kao Laam Party" (Progressive Party) by March 4th. The group anticipates securing necessary funds within 7-10 days and intends to convene a general meeting shortly thereafter, with Mr. Mongkolkitt poised to assume the role of party leader.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Mongkolkitt advised Mr. Rachen Trakulwiang, leader of the New Alternative Party, to prioritize his health and remarked that the party's votes were a result of his efforts. He also mentioned Mr. Songsak Thongsri, a prominent figure in the Bhumjaithai Party, noting a commitment to scrutinize all related projects closely.
Additionally, Mr. Mongkolkitt is organizing the "Bangkok Can Fly" group in preparation for the upcoming Bangkok gubernatorial election. The inaugural meeting is scheduled for March 3rd, during which they will begin accepting applications from prospective team members. The announcement of the gubernatorial candidate will occur soon, with a primary focus on enhancing elevated transportation systems as a key policy initiative.
